Division: Grouping and Sharing

A simple activity to consolidate your child's understanding of the concepts of grouping and sharing in division. They can easily be adapted by changing the serviette for baskets or other containers and changing the raisins for buttons, Lego or pasta shapes. This activity can also be done outside in the garden or the park, with balls, conkers or pine cones etc.  Instead of doing it on one spot you could spread out the containers etc and have your child really moving across the space.

While that might look like the same thing to you, because of the change of object, place you do it or containers for counting into, the activity will seem entirely different to your child.
